FAREWELL FROM YEAR 6s, 2020

As the year comes to a close, the Year 6s have reflected upon their time at Sirius College. They have written down their thoughts and experiences from their past memories here. My class hopes that their messages will show their appreciation for all that the school community has done for them throughout their presence at Sirius College.

My name is Milla Barker and I have been at Sirius College from Year 3. It’s been a rough term, but we all got through it. I had Mrs. Malhi for two years. Even though Mrs. Malhi was a strict teacher, she really pushed me to my limits and helped me work at my best. I remember all the camps I went on with my friends and enjoyed every single one! This year has been amazing, except for the fact that Cidra wasn’t here. But it’s been good and I will remember all the teachers. Mrs. Jarvis has been our teacher this year. She has been the funniest teacher I have ever had. I appreciate all the things you’ve done for me and the rest of the year 6 students. With the help of all my teachers, I’m going to become a paramedic, maybe even a doctor. I will miss my friends so much. I can’t forget to thank Mr. and Mrs. Engin, Ozlem and all the other Sirius College staff. All the best.

Hi, I’m Sukaina. I am in year 6 and this is my last year at Sirius College and I just wanted to share a last message with you. I just wanted to say that I will miss all my primary friends and my teachers. I wish Mrs. Singh good luck with her new baby. I will miss all the memories we made, but I hope I can make new ones. I wish you all good luck and all the best for the future. Bye.

I’m Farida Rezai. This is my last year at Sirius College and I have really enjoyed my years here. I’m thankful to all the teachers and my friends for getting me through primary school. I’m really excited to go to high school. I wish you all the best for the future. It was a great journey for me. I’ll miss you guys. Bye.

My name is Hina Hussain. I have been at Sirius College since Year 4 which totals 3 years. During that time, I have seen a lot of changes in the school, with students and teachers. I remember the old soccer field, the old basketball court, the old art room and the library, but if you compare the school now, IT HAS CHANGED SO MUCH!

I also remember the memories that I have of camp. At Urban Camp, we were eating our lunch in a park that had seagulls. Cidra was sitting on the concrete when Mueez came and scared a seagull and it flew over her head. She started crying.

At the Billabong Camp, horse riding was the best and the funniest memory ever! This is because my horse kept hitting Sukaina’s foot. I obviously won’t forget Mueez’s horse.

My experience at Sirius College was pretty good. Good luck, everyone!

Hello, my name is Hussain Alshamarry and I just wanted to say thank you for everything you have done Sirius College. I have had the best time ever. My favorite subject has been Maths. I have really enjoyed learning my times tables and other Maths topics.

Thank you to all the teachers who helped me. Mr. Engin has been the best principal. Thank you for everything that you’ve done for me. I will never forget you. Thank you.

My name is Dema Ihsan and I’m in year 6. Although I’ve only been at Sirius College for less than a year, I’m really going to miss it. I’ve made many fond memories and had a bunch of fun doing exciting activities.

I remember that the school held an art competition and I won first place! I had a lot of fun working on the drawing and the prize I got was fantastic. Other exciting and also educational things we did were conducting science experiments, like making a D.I.Y volcano, testing how to grow mold on bread, etc. We also went on a trip to see an act from a book, which was great to watch. I’ve had a bunch of other nice times too.

All the teachers were very kind, polite and helped me out a lot. My least favorite thing was having to do online classes, which wasn’t that nice. But I have learnt quite a lot at this school and even my grades have improved.

So now you can see why I am really going to miss Sirius College and everyone there. It’s so sad that this is going to be my first and last year here.

Hello, my name is Mariam and I just wanted to say, I’ve really enjoyed all the years that I have been at this school. I really want to thank all the teachers in this school, especially Mrs. Jarvis, Mrs. Moran, Mrs. Mahli and Mrs. Pandher for teaching me and helping me to succeed in my life. All those teachers have made me so much better and a smarter person. Thank you.

My name is Mohamad Ali Alnaseri. I have really enjoyed my time as Sirius College. I’ve been through so much at Sirius College. My favorite people here are my friends. I will miss my Year 6 class and Hassan Alfraihi, Raphael Palaez and Hussain Almosawy. I liked how we had fruit time and longer holidays because at other schools they normally don’t have these things there. I would like to thank my teachers, friends and the school for improving my learning and making me a smarter child. Thanks to everyone who supported me and I’d love to thank my three best friends the most, because they supported me the most. Good bye, Sirius College.

My name is Mueez and I’ve been at this school for 3 years. I have seen a lot of changes in this school, like the soccer field. It used to have real grass, but they changed it to artificial grass and I think it looks better than before. I would like to say bye-bye to all of the teachers, students and the CRTs (Casual Relief Teachers) who helped us.

Hi, my name is Krar Alshafani. I’m from Sirius College and I just want to thank Mrs. Jarvis for supporting me and helping me with everything. I want to thank all my teachers and my friends for being there for me when I was lonely. All the best.

Hi, my name is Hassan Alfraihi and I’m thirteen years old. My favorite sport has been basketball.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the teachers and my friends who have helped me to be the person that I am today. I will miss this school, the teachers and students a lot.

My name is Izaan. I came to Sirius College a year ago. My friends say that I missed all the memories, but I’m not sure. Sirius College is a whole different experience for me, the teachers, the students, the ICT Lab, the timetable, the touchscreen board and a million other things. These are different in a very good way. I will miss them. I will remember all my memories fondly. I won’t forget the day that I first came to the school, the camp and all the holidays. I will miss all the teachers, especially Mrs. Moran and Mrs. Jarvis. I will also miss my friends, Mueez, Raphael, Hussain, Krar and Mohamad. I will remember them for years to come. Best wishes.

My name is Raph and I’ve been at this school for 3 years. In that time, I’ve noticed a lot of changes. Some of them are when the library wasn’t that big and we had tubs. Some memories were Mueez trying to dance. I was only in the school for a week and that made me laugh and calm down. All the students and teachers were pretty cool. I will miss this school a lot. I hope they can say the same for me. Bye.

Hi, my name is Mr. Almosawy and I have been here for 2 years. My favorite thing that I did was go to the camp. When I first came to this school, I didn’t even know how to write properly but this school changed that for me. I wish I could stay here because I have so much to learn. So thank you teachers. This is the only school that has taught me a lot and I am so thankful to the teachers. I really hope my high school is the same as this school. I will miss the teachers and my friends; Mohamad Ali, Raphael and Hassan. My friend Ibrahim, I will miss him a lot, even though he isn’t at this school anymore. He would care for me a lot, and every time at camp, he carried my bag. I thank him for that. Thank you Sirius College.

You all know me as Cidra, the School Captain for this year. I have had a wonderful time at Sirius College.

On behalf of the Sirius College graduating class of 2020, I would like to thank you all for your very important contributions to our education. Without all of you, we would not have made it this far through this very challenging year with COVID-19. Thank you especially to Mr. Engin for your leadership during the pandemic. You enabled us to continue to learn even though we were not able to go to school physically for most of the year. We would also like to thank our teachers for taking the time each day, coming online to teach us and answering all of our questions. A special thank you to our parents for their continued support, and ensuring that we had everything that we needed for our learning.

We will miss you as we enter secondary school. We wish you all the best until we meet again.

Cheers,
Year 6 Teachers
Ms Jarvis and Mrs. Moran
